SokukoJi's Campus Vision

As Sokuzan's vision for SokukoJi Buddhist Temple Monastery evolves, we have a number of development projects for the Monastery, its grounds and buildings.

 

Any donation amount will help towards achieving the financial needs for each project.

As often occurs, there is a natural hierarchy and order to things, and some projects cannot be started until others have been completed.

Help us finance purchases of adjoining properties to expand the SokukoJi Monastery Campus footprint.  This will enable us to provide more accommodation for visitors and residents, as well as spaces for gardens, open-air meditation spaces, and indoor meeting venues.

BOOKSTORE START-UP COSTS:

We are working towards opening an independent bookstore in 2022, Karma House Books, specializing in dharma books.  Funds are needed towards the purchase of software for inventory and sales control, point of sale hardware, and books!

LIBRARY RENOVATION COSTS: $100,000

Help fund the conversion of an existing building into a three-bedroom residence and two-story Library, housing Sokuzan's considerable collection of dharma books, spanning his 50 years on the path.  The project also includes an all-weather covered walkway, directly connecting the Library to the Monastery.
