Dogen Zenji, the founder of this Soto Zen lineage said that to study the self is to forget the self and to forget the self is to be awakened, or enlightened by all things. Everything is telling you what you are, what this is. To study the self is to study the dharma, to practice seeing what’s on the move by observing.
