The Order of Immediate Light
Monastery
The forms and regulations of the monastery are created and maintained by the functionaries.
The functionaries meet on a regular basis to evaluate monastery forms and adjust accordingly based on extensive communication throughout the community, via text, email and interviews.
Abbot
The Abbot serves as a spiritual guide to all practice residents and the greater Sangha.
Their primary intention is to help students see their true nature.
The Abbot offers Dharma talks as well as Dokusan.
Tsukantsu
The Tsukantsu manages day to day operations and is a level below
the Abbot.
Responsibilities include administrative duties, interfacing with the public, giving Dharma talks, facilitating meetings, and communicating with the community.
Shuso
The Shuso is responsible for the
temple grounds.
They facilitate the form of samu and coordinate any work projects.
They communicate with the community.
Ino
The Ino is responsible for the practice forms and anything that occurs in the Zendo.
They train residents and community members on the forms.
They communicate with the community.
